Capt. Ray reported it took awhile but the squid fishing did develop nicely, albeit on the late side. Just a handful of anglers came out to enjoy what was an amazingly picturesque weather night with mirror calm seas and a big bright full moon. The squid were EVERYWHERE!!! A couple anglers last night had no trouble filling upwards to a half or more of a five gallon pail and one angler really struggled. Later when the bite turned on very light one ounce or less weights seemed to be the trick and most anglers who were scoring well were sight fishing for the squid. For those who chose to dunk some fresh caught squid they tossed back some nice sea bass but were finally able to keep some hubcap size scup and a couple good size blue fish. We would like to go tonight again and the rest of this week through the weekend for that matter but its gonna take a few more people than what we had last night so if interested please call the office by 4pm or so to book a reservation. The next squid trip is set to sail tonight at 7pm with Capt. Ray aboard the Lady Frances.
