Capt. Mike reported a very good afternoon fluke trip with a nice hefty shot of keepers to six pounds and a nice amount of shorts to keep things moving right along. Hi hook took home three nice keepers for his effort. Rental rods and tandem bait rigs were the way to go. A few more out of season sea bass to toss back and a few scup mixed in as well. Remember that we now sail our half day trips twice daily and the schedule through June is 8am to Noon and 1pm to 5pm.
Capt. Rich reported a slower pick today. Some nice stuff but not in the quantities we had been used to. Still a few anglers did very well. First mate Chris L on a very rare busmans holiday took home six keepers including fish of 8 and 7lbs!! Well done Chris! Jeff, a longtime regular, put five fine fluke in his cooler including a couple jumbos. Tomorrow is a new day and Capt. Rich looks forward to the great weather forecasted and more good fluke fishing with the Gail Frances set to sail at 7am.
We are going back out after squid tonight and we kick off our Striper season this evening as well so look for those updates tomorrow morning.
