Capt. Rich reported an awesome turnout of eager fluke and sea bass enthusiasts to enjoy this awesome temperate summer day and the fishing was almost as good as the weather. More than 150 big fluke and 50 big sea bass hit the decks of the Gail Frances today. There were at least six fluke over 8lbs with Mike Jung from Peace Token getting three of those slabs himself, but loosing the pool to a fellow with a slab over 10lbs!!! There were many other fluke over 5lbs, there were many limit catches. The fish were not as spread out amongst the anglers aboard with a good number of anglers doing exceptionally well and others not faring the same but that is party boat fishing. All terminal gear had its moments today but during times of slow drift the bucktails of various kinds were deadly. Biggest sea bass in the four plus pound range. Capt. Rich looks forward to enjoying both more gorgeous weather and good fishing tomorrow with the Gail Frances set to sail at 7am.
Capt. Chris reported Steve from Hillside Landscaping from CT, who faithfully charters with us year after year, enjoyed an awesome day of fluking today. They combined for nearly 70 big fluke and close to two dozen big sea bass. Biggest fluke caught by Eric went a solid 8lbs with two thirds of the keeper fluke between 4 and 7lbs. A good number of the anglers on the charter easily limited out on big fluke today. Biggest sea bass was 5lbs and most were in the 2 to 3.5lb range. They also had some unbelievable action with short fluke amidst all the keepers so there was NEVER a dull moment and all hands aboard enjoyed a great day of fishing in some of the finest summer weather Mother Nature can offer here along the Rhode Island shoreline. This awesome catch of jumbo fluke and slammer sea bass was ENTIRELY on bait rigs/rental rod set ups. Not one person was using bucktails! Still some choice dates available for the Capt. Frances private charters this summer so if interested call the office to discuss booking details with Tammy or Roger.
