Capt. Mike was pleased to report an awesome day of fluke fishing for the handful of anglers who decided to hop on the 8am full day. Mr. Pak, Sin and his son and another friend all easily limited out on nice fluke to six pounds today with quite a few fish in the 4 to 5lb range and they also had a few nice sea bass apiece to go along with their fluke. The other anglers aboard did not limit out but all had several nice fluke and a few sea bass apiece to take home. The best bite coincided with the heaviest downpours when the fluke just really went crazy and all the anglers braved the elements to cash in on the hot bite. Several hefty sea bass in the 3 to 4lb range today with one bomber of just under 5lbs. Quite a few shorts to keep the anglers busy, especially Roger. Roger had the only blue fish of the day, good for him! Mr. Pak and the boys had their great success today with bucktails. It was definitely a bucktail kind of a day with a very slow drift. Hi light of the day was Sin’s son who brought in a double header that included fluke of six and four pounds!! That is double header they would be proud of on the 7am boat! Anyways it was a great day of fishing and Capt. Mike looks forward to another good day tomorrow with the Admiral Frances set to sail at 8am.
Capt. Keith reported a decent morning of fishing with a nice bunch of keepers and a fine 27 inch seven pound pool fish plus plenty of shorts to provide steady action. Reports for the 1pm and 4pm half days will be available later on today.
Capt. Chris reported the Greg Bower half day charter had a nice mix of good size sea bass and some nice fluke plus plenty of shorts to keep the anglers quite entertained today. Still some great availability during the month of August for charters on the Capt. Frances which is perfect for those small to medium size groups such as the one we had this morning.
