Capt. Mike reported a handful of anglers had a very enjoyable day of fluke fishing today aboard the Admiral Frances. Ben one of our longtime regulars from Manhattan was limited out at 1135am while another angler who took notes from Ashley Hindes yesterday was limited out by 1149am. Most of the rest of the anglers aboard had several nice fluke apiece to take home along with a sea bass or two including a few sea bass over 3lbs. The big news however was the fluke and about sixty percent of today’s keepers were fish in the 4 to 7lb range with the big fish of the day being the 27 inch brick thick 9lb slab that Capt. Mike skillfully brought up from the depths and that Roger deftly netted. A good number of the other keepers were fish that were just under 4lbs with very few of them being just keepers. There were a couple smoothies to provide a little extra excitement. All terminal gear was effective today with plain rental rod setups doing well and the store bought rigs with the mylar, spinners and the flash doing quite well also. One angler was very generously give fresh mullet by a friend of his and had a really good results but the boat bait did just fine on its own as well. Please check out some pics that will be posted above this report and the next 8am full day fluke trip (catching sea bass as well) will set sail next Wednesday the 24th. For next week the 8am full day will be available Wednesday through Friday on the Admiral Frances at 8am. If you need any clarification on this particular trip or any other kindly give us a call at the office.
