Capt. Rich reported a great day of fluke fishing today on the Gail Frances. Although the conditions were somewhat sporty(having NOTHING to do with Irene) but rather the current weather system, the fluke were indeed snapping! There were a good number of limits and the majority of anglers aboard had four to six nice fluke apiece. Long leadered bait rigs whether spinner with mylar/big rubber squid or rental rod set ups were all productive in the highly efficient drift condtions. Plenty of shorts as well to keep the anglers busy and entertained at the rails. A good amount of quality fluke in the three to five pound range but nothing huge with the best around six pounds for the day. In fact that six pound fluke just narrowly beat out a five and a half pound sea bass for bragging rights! Longtime regular Ed Pol took the pool honors today. As for sea bass numbers overall they were okay with a respectable number of quality biscuts taken but the fluke were the headliners today on the 7am full day boat. Again to reiterate what is in the headlines, there will be one full day boat tomorrow from 730am to 4pm sailing for fluke and sea bass on the Gail Frances. The cost will be $75 per fare. Capt’s Tackle as usual will be open at 5am. A few pics will be posted, courtesy of Roger to showcase a smidge of today’s angler hi lights.
