Capt. Rich was pleased to report that not only was the weather gorgeous today but the fishing was excellent as well. A more focused effort continued to find there are still some nice fluke hanging out around the BI. In fact for mid September and two past tropical systems the number of fluke taken today was very pleasing. A few nice jumbos mixed in as well with the biggest flattie over 8lbs and another one in the six to seven pound range and a couple guys had a couple keeper fluke apiece. Some short fluke as well released to grow bigger for next season. Quite a few good size sea bass today as well with a decent amount of sea bass between three and five pounds. Many of the anglers aboard had several nice sea bass apiece to take home with hi hook taking home a full limit of tasty biscuts. Quite a few big porgies as well and many anglers had several of them to go along with their sea bass. Quite a few blue fish of various sizes to add some extra sport and keep things interesting but the most exciting part of the day was right off the bat when a hungry fat 8lb cod fish took a clam and quickly became the first fall cod keeper of 2011 and might I say quite a fine fish for 50 ft of water!! Well it was a great day of fishing and weather and Capt. Rich cannot wait to get back out tomorrow to enjoy more good weather and fishing with the Gail Frances set to sail at 7am.
