Capt. Ray reported a great day of Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass. Full limits of Scup were easily attainable and sizes ranged upwards to 2lbs while most anglers had a half dozen to a full limit catch of mostly jumbo sea bass apiece to go along with the porgies. Sizes on the sea bass frequently 2 to 3lbs with a few of the biggest ones crowding the 4lb mark. A couple nice blue fish to add a bit of sport and one nice keeper fluke as well. A few short fluke and some decent size ocean perch to round out the days catch. Roger was pleased as could be when he busted his scup rod today swinging in a double header that consisted of a brilliantly colored red and gold but just short cod and a 2lb scup. Roger says there is no better way to bust a rod than with a cod! Anyways it was a great day and Capt. Ray looks forward to another good day tomorrow with the Admiral Frances set to sail at 8am.
