Capt. Ray reported as good as it gets porgy fishing today with fish up to 21 inches and 3.5lbs!! Full boat limit of big scup with most fish well over a pound and 2lb stuff rather common! More than half of the anglers aboard were limited out on good size sea bass with sizes up to 4lbs as well!! The fishing just does not get any better! Capt. Ray looks forward to the next Porgy/Sea bass trip tomorrow at 8am on the Admiral Frances.
Capt. Rich reported an okay day with the cod but slower than the past two days. Patrick from CT, a frequent visitor to the FF, jigged up four fine cod to 20lbs today for hi hook honors. Another angler who had never been codding before put three nice market cod in his cooler. Generally though the wind and tide conditions caused a tougher bite today. Still the majority of the anglers aboard left with one or two cod. Quite a few shorts today as well. A mix of both dark and green fish today. One nice fluke around 4lbs, a fair but increasing number of good size sea bass, one super size alligator blue fish and some truly epic ocean perch to 2.5lbs and a few red hake rounded out the days landings. Completely the opposite of yesterday, the cod today seemed to be swimming up off the bottom with the jigs and teasers getting a better response than bait so be prepared for both. Capt. Rich looks foward to trying it again tomorrow with the Gail Frances set to sail at 7am.
