Capt. Mike reported a very strong day of togging today and a very enthusiastic turnout of anglers who enjoy fishing for these seasonally cosmopolitan crustacean crushing creatures. There were many anglers who easily limited out and others that did not but still did well and a few who had tougher luck. For one reason one small part of the boat did not catch as well as the rest of the boat, probably due to tide and something that occasionally cannot be avoided in party boat fishing. Biggest tog was in the 8 to 9lb range but the pool winning fish was a fine green cod of ten pounds, one of several keeper cod brought aboard the Lady Frances today. There was a tremendous number of short tog as well to keep many of the anglers very busy today. Capt. Mike looks forward to some great weather and hopefully more of the same good fishing tomorrow as the Lady Frances will be set to sail for tog at 6am.
Capt. Rich will also be out enthusiastically hunting down cod fish and sea bass tomorrow and he will be set to sail on the Gail Frances at 7am.
Right now weather looks just dandy on Monday to get out after both cod/sea bass and tatoug. There will be two boats ready to sail with the Lady Frances setting sail at 6am and the Gail Frances at 7am for tog and cod/sea bass respectively.
