Capt. Rich reported a beautiful early December day on the water today with bright sunshine, seasonable temps and relatively light winds allowing us to drift a good part of the day. Once again the sea bass fishing was excellent with many limit catches easily observed all around the Gail Frances today. A fair number of scup limits as well. Biggest scup well over two pounds while the biggest sea bass was well over 4lbs with enough 2.5 to 3lb biscuits to make things very interesting. A few handfuls of nice green cod to around 12lbs as well as quite a few short cod to toss back and catch another day when the grow up a bit more. Some big ocean perch and one throwback fluke and a few cocktail size blue fish to top things off. By far best catches were made with one hook down low. Scott Romano from CT was back again today and he and his friends loaded up on nice size sea bass. A picture of Scott appears above today’s report. Today’s pics once again courtesy of Roger. Tomorrow we try again with good sailing weather and Capt. Rich set to sail on the Gail Frances at 7am.
Capt. Mike reported a decent day of togging( exponentially improved over yesterday’s fishing for which no report was filed) today with a few nice cod mixed in. Jacob from LI,NY easily limited out on tog up to ten pounds today and took the pool as well with the ten pound brute. Well done as always Jacob! Capt. Mike looks forward to another good sailing day tomorrow with the Lady Frances set to sail at 6am.
