Capt. Mike was jubilant this afternoon when he filed the black fish report explaining that there were several limit catches and a good number of anglers who were not far behind. A couple ten pound chinners battled it out for the pool honors today as well. Good numbers of shorts to provide the busy work in between the keepers and a few nice green cod to top off the excellent late inning catch of our favorite crustacean crushing critters! A couple of pics will appear above today’s report courtesy of Roger. Capt. Mike looks forward to another nice day on the water tomorrow with the Lady Frances set to sail at 6am for tatoug.
Capt. Rich reported another slam dunk day of sea bass fishing with many limit catches recorded around the boat and again a lot of quality biscuts in the three to four pound range with the best perhaps approaching five pounds. Plenty of super size porgies to nearly 2.5lbs as well and there were numerous limits of big scup as well. As far as the cod went we wound up slightly ahead of yesterday and there were a couple fish in the teens today. A fair number of short cod, a throwback fluke and throwback giant winter flounder est at over 4lbs, and some ocean perch and a couple nice size red hake and that was the size of it for today. Capt. Cory Blount easily limited out on both scup and sea bass today jigging and got one nice keeper cod to eat the iron clam as well however outside of that everything was on bait and some of the best scores once again for both size and numbers on both the cod and sea bass were made with one hook down low or just above the sinker but keeping the sinker on the bottom at all times as much as possible. The higher hooks and teasers with bait were not a good idea today. A great day of fishing and some pics will appear courtesy of Roger above the fishing report. Capt. Rich looks forward to another nice day on the water tomorrow with the Gail Frances set to sail at 7am for sea bass/cod.
