Capt. Mike reported local cod fishing today was unfortunately rather slow once again. After some very encouraging results the past two days we were kind of back to square one again. We fished the same area as yesterday and the day before and while we had a few very short flurries of nice cod and some shorts it was over as quick as it started. Matt, longtime regular from JB tackle took the pool with a fine cod threatening the lower teens. There was a fair number of ling caught with a few guys getting several of them apiece. A lot of big ocean perch again with sizes to over 2lbs! It cannot be said enough that these smaller relatives of the tog family make for outstanding table fare. More and more people are coming around to the idea of having some of the bigger ones filleted. The stretch of amazing weather continues and tomorrow is a new day and we hope for better results and Capt. Mike will be set to sail on the Lady Frances at 5am with the store being open by 4am for check ins. Some pics posted today courtesy of a local cod fan. A couple of the fish are repeated but the photographer decided to post regardless based on visual merit.
