Roger had some good news about the very local fluking today well within sight of Rhode Island’s scenic south shore beaches. A good pull of keepers with the biggest pushing 5lbs with Roger from Bristol CT getting 7 nice keepers using his hi lo spro combination and there was a good number of the other anglers aboard who had several nice fluke apiece to take home. Most anglers were able to bring home at least dinner. There was tremendous action all day with the shorties so no one was left out of the catching and some anglers were downright busy with nary a free moment at the rail. A few nice size blue fish made things a bit more interesting and there were quite a few catch and release sea bass today which bodes well for the June 15th opening. Bait rigs and hi lo spro combos were all effective today although the spros took more in the way of keepers home. Even a couple of double headers today! All in all a good day of fishing with cobalt blue skies and comfortable temps to make for a very enjoyable day on the water. Unfortunately due to the storm tomorrow all fishing trips tonight and tomorrow are CANCELLED!! Again there is no squid trip tonight due to the weather and no full day fluke trip tomorrow. Weather looks to be much better on Sunday. The Capt. Tackle store will be open all day tomorrow but will not open til at least 6am. Some pics today to showcase angler hi lights are provided courtesy of Roger.
