Capt. Mike was elated to report of some very strong fluking today again on the Lady Frances. Like yesterday quality was a key factor but today quantity played a significant role as well. There was one limit, first of the season!! There were several other anglers who had six or seven nice keepers apiece. There were three fluke between 9 and 10 pounds. At least 20 fish today were over 4lbs. It was a slow drift today so those who knew how to take advantage of it with the buck tails reigned supreme. No specifics other than “spros” were given, ie: color etc. Very strong signs of a tremendous amount of bait moving onto the fluke grounds as the fluke and the blue fish and sea bass were all gorged on big squid. A rather staggering number of big knot head sea bass were thrown back today, remember only six fishing days away til we can keep them!! A few big porgies and some friendly bluefish to round out a great day of local fluke fishing! Capt. Mike looks forward to tomorrow’s trip for full day fluke set to sail at 7am on the Lady Frances. A few excellent pictures courtesy Capt. Mike appear above today’s fishing report.
No squid trip tonight unfortunately. Last night did show some significant improvement and there certainly is no shortage of squid around. We try again tomorrow night at 7pm aboard the Lady Frances with Capt. Ray. If interested please book online or call the office to make an official reservation.
