The report from the 7am full day boat is of good fishing although perhaps a tad relaxed from the past few days. Pool fish was just a shade under 9lbs with several more over 7lbs but we broke the streak of the double digit pool fish today. A fish that looked to threaten the ten pound mark made a dramatic charge for freedom at the net and won the battle. I suppose at times that is how the fluke out east get so big! One angler who was fishing a light spinning rod with a light buck tail excelled with the poor drift conditions encountered most of the day, he managed hi hook honors with 7 keeper fluke and close to ten nice sea bass which made for one heck of a stringer!! Longtime regular Norm also had a great catch today with six nice keepers and 7 good size sea bass and remember that Norm only keeps sea bass over 14 inches. A number of other anglers had several nice fluke and several nice sea bass apiece to take home. Some had less and in a few cases much less but that’s fishing. Later in the day the drift conditions got better and so did the fishing overall. Another great summer day of weather forecast for tomorrow and Capt. Rich will be set to sail at 7am on the Gail Frances.
Capt. Cory said the PM half day was excellent with a fast drift and fast fishing. Hi hook had four keeper fluke. Biggest fluke was 5lbs and there were a few nice sea bass mixed in along with plenty of shorts for lots of action. The rental rod rigs were the best producers of this evening’s trip. Next half day trip will set sail tomorrow morning at 8am aboard the Lady Frances.
