First mate Capt. Nicky Blount reported a great night of Striper fishing last night with lots of quality bass to 30lbs with a good number of other fish in the low to mid 20’s and the boat came in just shy of a full limit. Just a handful of blue fish mixed in as well. Tonight’s Striper trip is SOLD OUT!
Capt. Don reported the combo was poor last night. There was little to no fin fish bite and while the squid did show for awhile they did not stick around and did not seem interested in what the anglers had to offer. Should there be enough interest we try again tonight at 7pm with Capt. Don on the Gail Frances.
Capt. Matt reported a very good 4pm half day. Again the rental rods were the top producers with straight bait rigs the way to go. A lot of quality fluke and some nice sea bass to please the enthusiastic turnout of half day fishers. Mike Elsas from Westport CT who made the web page with his son earlier yesterday on the 8am full day boat, did it again on the 4pm with a fine 9lb slab caught right at the last minute as Capt. Matt instructed that the lines be brought in. A pic of the behemoth flattie appears courtesy of Mike. First half day is in progress but the next one to head out is set for a 4pm departure with Capt. George on the Admiral Frances.
