The report from Capt Rich and first mate Chris L was of dramatically improved fishing today. A moderate group of anglers put more than 240 nice fluke and sea bass into their bags and coolers today!! Some nice scup, big sea robins and a bunch of blue fish to top off the great catch of fluke and sea bass. There were also many double header keeper sea bass and plenty of throwback fluke and throwback sea bass to keep the anglers very busy in between the keeper fish. Pool fish was around six pounds with hi hooks on the fluke getting upwards to a half dozen keepers apiece while a respectable number of the anglers aboard had upwards to ten and even a dozen nice sea bass apiece to take home. Any how it is sliced, much much much better than the last two days. Everyone left with fish today and many left with a nice full bag of fillets!! Capt. Rich looks forward to another good day of weather and hopefully more good fishing tomorrow with the Gail Frances set to sail at 7am. Roger will have the office open by 5am.
Capt. Mike and Capt. George both reported marked improvement in their respective half day fishing trips today. A nice number of fluke and a few sea bass this morning for Capt. Mike’s customers. Capt. George reported a respectable pull of mostly very good size fluke on the 1pm for his customers. A half dozen “jumbos” in the four to seven pound range plus some other keepers and a few nice sea bass and some short fluke made for a much brighter half day than the day before. All in all some marked improvement over the past two days and we look forward to continued improvement. Some pics from today’s 1pm posted courtesy Roger. Tomorrow we offer half day outings at 8am, 1pm and 4pm. Remember tomorrow is a family day so two adults and two children can sail for $100 or $120 with rods which equates to a $30 savings!!! Also if one wants to do two back to back half days he or she can receive $15 off the second half day.
Due to weather and lack of interest thus far we will be cancelling the Night Striper trip for Wednesday (tomorrow) Night at 7pm. Next scheduled outing will be Thursday Night at 7pm with Capt. Ray aboard the Gail Frances.
