Capt. Rich and first mate Capt. Ted reported a lot of big fluke again fell victim to the angler’s offerings aboard the Gail Frances today. Another double digit pool fish of 11.5lbs taken on a white spinner rig with a long strip of fluke belly (pics of Miroslaw Sydlowski’s fish) appear above today’s report courtesy of Roger. The runner up was just a shade under ten pounds and there were at least a half dozen other quality slabs in the 7 to 8.5lb range. At least another two dozen jumbos as well. A fair amount of nice size sea bass and some blue fish made for a bit more variety today. The drift was rather quick today however the spro set ups esp the hi and lo variety were quite successful again today. While the fish were not overly spread out, there were a decent number of limits today with Roger from Bristol Ct hi hook with 11 nice keepers (orl). Tomorrow is a new day and Capt. Rich looks forward to another nice day on the water with the Gail Frances set to sail at 7am.
A great enthusiastic turnout of Striper anglers last night however tough tidal conditions kept the results a few shades behind what would have been preferred. Some bass with the best into the upper teens and a lot of blue fish. Tonight we try again with the Lady Frances set to sail with Capt. Ray at 7pm.
Word from the half day morning trip and the half day charter was of a mix of fluke and sea bass. Tomorrow we do offer two half days with trips setting sail at 8am and again at 1pm. Should anyone be interested in sailing back to back half days we will offer a $15 discount on the second half day.
