Capt. Mike reported the big news on the Tuna trip which just recently got back to the docks was of one of the best Yellow bites in a long while and the best average size in probably years! Capt. Mike reported the Yellows were all beautiful 50 to 90lb class fish and there were at least a fewl angler limits including Dale Shoemaker from Mass, one of our longest and most loyal tuna customers. Capt. Mike reported they chipped away( with a few good flurries) the entire trip but it was more of a night bite. A couple of Albacore and one good size Mahi otherwise it was all Yellows. Next trip leaving tomorrow night is SOLD OUT. Some pics will be posted a bit later courtesy of first mate Chris K.
Roger reported Capt. Ray found a slower bite with the porgies today. The fish were hard down and finicky. To be sure some respectable catches were made and most of the porgies were jumbos well over a pound with some easily pushing the 2lb mark. In fact Roger dead sticked a bunch of big scup today including a double header of 2lbrs. A couple of other anglers did well today using very light tackle. Quite a few keeper sea bass mixing in again today after being absent for awhile and a few anglers managed six to eight nice keeper sea bass apiece. A half dozen big triggers to over 4lbs, a few blue fish, one small striper and a bunch of ocean perch rounded out the days catch. We look forward to improved fishing tomorrow and great weather with the Lady Frances set to sail at 7am with Capt. Ray.
