First mate Chris reported an excellent turnout of cod enthusiasts today, this gorgeous Columbus Day Holiday. All things considered cod fishing was respectable. There just were not as many scup and sea bass to fill in the gaps so to speak. Just a few handfuls of big porgies and nice size sea bass to go along with the cod fish. A mix of dark and green cod with the pool fish 15lbs. Sin from NY had five nice keepers as did a few other anglers for hi hook honors. A decent amount of other anglers had three or four cod apiece to take home. All the cod observed were caught on bait today. A few anglers tried jigging but to no avail. There was no tide and basically no drift all day today so all things considered the results were actually better than Saturday when we had the same condition. Yesterday we had more tide and better drift and thus the results were different. Wednesday will be the next cod trip and the weather looks just fine with Capt. Rich ready to set sail on the Gail Frances at 7am.
Capt. Ray will be setting sail for scup tomorrow morning at 7am aboard the Admiral Frances. Cory will have the office open by 6am for tackle sales and check ins.
