Capt. Mike was elated to report the tog fishing was so good today that the boat was limited out and back to the dock an hour early!! Two cod and one blue fish joined the black fish party today as well. Plenty of shorts kept things action packed while the boat was in the process of limiting out. Pics today provided courtesy Capt. Mike. A couple fish in the ten to eleven pound range fought it out for bragging rights today. Weather next two days looks dynamite and Capt. Mike looks forward to setting sail both Monday and Tuesday at 6am aboard the Lady Frances.
Roger was out with Capt. Rich today aboard the Gail Frances after cod and while the catching of fish was almost astonishing the keeping of what we caught was slim at best. Just a couple cod today and two of them came at the last minute after Capt. Rich started the engines to go home. Longtime regular Patrick from CT had the biggest cod of the day with a fish around ten pounds. There was one pollock in the low teens but it was Everett from Warwick who took home the pool money with a gorilla blue fish that easily went 15lbs! A fair amount of blues today along with a smattering of scup to 2lbs and a few handfuls of ocean perch. The cod themselves kept a very low profile today perhaps still affected from the big blow of the past week. Due to the lack luster cod results today we are going to give things another week or so to settle down and will try again this coming Saturday at 6am with Capt. Rich aboard the Gail Frances the way things stand right now. A few pics provided today courtesy of Roger.
