First mates Capt. Matt and Chris L reported the fluke trip today was very good. There was a respectable turnout of fluke enthusiasts today and they in turn put quite a few respectable fluke aboard the deck of the Lady Frances. At least a dozen over 4lbs today with Peter and Connie Tu having both of the biggest fluke of the day with Connie’s fish just edging out Pete’s fish(both 7.5 to 8lbs). Mr. Pak had the third biggest with a fish just under 7lbs. Hi hooks had six or seven keepers apiece but there were no reported limit catches today. A good number of anglers aboard had two to four nice fluke apiece to take home. Not a lot of throwbacks today but enough to keep things interesting. Earlier in the day when the drift was very slow spro jigs were the ticket however later in the afternoon the drift picked up and bait rigs had the nod of success. Connie’s fish took a bait rig while Pete’s inhaled a spro jig. Guess it is good to have both bucktails and bait rigs on hand to fish whatever the conditions dictate or the fish seem to prefer. Capt. Rich looks forward to a beautiful day on the water tomorrow with the Lady Frances set to sail at 7am with the Capt. Tackle being open no later than 530 am.
