Roger was pleased to report that the fluking today finished up quite strong. It was a challenging morning with a sizeable heave, pea soup fog, and some impressive downpours however the afternoon was 360 degree change with the wind dropping right out, the fog lifting, the swell subsiding and a warm hazy sunshine developing that coincided with a rapidly intensifying fluke bite. The action was busy to say the least as Capt. Matt and Capt. Mike were running at times around the boat netting one fine keeper after another. This pace enabled just about everyone to put at least a few keepers in their bags and coolers and allowed all hands at the rail non stop action on the shorts. Capt. Mike himself was the hot shot angler of the day rapidly accumulating a limit during the afternoon bite and countless shorts. Capt. Mike did his damage today with a double green spro jig combination. Another angler rapidly put seven fine fluke including a pair of 5lbrs utilizing both the tandem bait rig and whole squid, aboard the deck of the Lady Frances while longtime regular Norm quickly put six fine keepers to 5lbs in his cooler with whole squid. Norm also was the hot hand with catch and release sea bass today letting 8 fine specimens to over 3lbs go back to swim another day. Quite a few other nice sea bass caught just a glimpse of the Lady Frances today as well and its always nice to see them even if the visit is short. June 15th for those tasty critters folks!! All terminal gear was effective today and the fluke were GORGING on sand eels, they were just LOADED with them this afternoon spitting up KNOTS AND KNOTS of them. The fluke were also coming way up off the bottom chasing baits with Roger getting a few fish while reeling in to check his bait. A great finish to a questionable start. Pool prize went to Carlo from New York who nailed a fine slab over 7lbs this afternoon. There was another one around 7lbs that wasn’t in the pool and a good half dozen others in the 5lb range. Tomorrow is a new day and Capt. Rich looks forward to setting sail at 7am aboard the Lady Frances. Roger will have the Capt. Tackle open by 530 am for tackle/ticket sales.
