First mate Chris L and Capt. Rich reported once again the sea bass stole the show as the Gail Frances easily limited out on sea bass today with sizes upwards to 5lbs plus and anglers generally not keeping anything under 15 inches! Once the boat limit was reached plenty of big sea bass were thrown back as well. In fact Cote reported that in just about every cooler or bag that was emptied on to the fillet table contained at least one or two sea bass over 3lbs!! There certainly was some quality sea bass today with many many big knot heads in the three to five pound range. On the fluke side of things it was about quality and not quantity. Biggest fish was around 8lbs and a good majority of the fluke iced today were jumbos but there was just no big number of them. Hi hook on the fluke iced several nice size keepers. A few blue fish and a handful or two of big porgies rounded out the day’s catch. Capt. Rich looks forward to another beautiful weather and fishing day on the water tomorrow with the Gail Frances set to sail at 7am.
First mate Chris K reported that the morning half day was very good with a nice amount of keepers and plenty of shorts to keep customers busy while the afternoon trip was much slower although one angler still managed to box 3 fine keepers. Two half days on tap for tomorrow with the first set to sail at 8am and the second at 1pm. For those anglers who like to do back to back half day trips we do offer a $15 discount off the second trip and that is one very full day of fishing for $65!!
A note to our readers: For this Sunday only, there is no half day morning trip due to a charter. There will be a 1pm to five pm half day this Sunday. This is ONLY for this Sunday June 23rd.
