Captain Matt reported a decent morning half day trip with the Narragansett Lions for the 5th annual Visually impaired fishing trip.High hook managed to get 3 keepers with handful of anglers boxing 2 each. Lots of shorts kept the rods bending all trip long. A few sea bass and sea robins in the mix. One 18″ blackfish(released”) and a torpedo ray around 60 pounds rounded out the mornings catch.
The afternoon trip had about the same results. High hook on the afternoon trips boxed 4 fine keepers. Some more sea bass in the mix as well. Much slower on the short fish side, but nearly every fish in the afternoon was a keeper. Captain Matt tried a new spot and found good results. After doing 2 quick 10 minute drifts, 8 fine keeper fluke made it over the rail. Captain Matt did say he will say this spot for a rainy day.
Captain George and Captain Mike were also both out running fluke charters for the Araujo bachelor party and The Technic group. Both captains reported over all good fishing for fluke and sea bass. Biggest fish was around 5 pounds. Both captains kept the rods bending with plenty of short fluke action. The Captain Frances has plenty of prime dates avaible for charters. Call the office to book your private charters from 1-135 people!
Captain Rich reported a tough day on the Gail Frances. Strong tides made for some very fast drift conditions. High hook on the fluke went home with 4 fine slabs. Pool fish today was around 6 pounds. Lots of sea bass today as well. Biggest sea bass was around 5 pounds. Some anglers went home with sea bass limits of all fish over 4 pounds. Captain Matt is at the helm and hoping to find a few more fluke tomorrow.
