Captain Rich reported a slower day on the full day boat. It seems the very hot temperatures made the fluke not hungry. The mornings bite was good but it petered out from there. Today’s pool fish was around 6 pounds. Some nice scup to 2 pounds and some quality sized sea bass to 4 pounds. A nice striped bass also found a meal out of squid and spearing. Captain Rich will be at it again tomorrow morning at 7am.
Captain Mike reported slower fishing on the half days as well. Lack of drift and very hot weather made for slow fluking. This mornings trip saw some quality fish but the the quantity Mike was hoping for. Pool fish was around 6 pounds. Some nice sea bass also made it in to the coolers. The afternoons trip saw the same conditions. Mike tried a different area which held more shorts but not as many keepers. Both half days are scheduled to set sail tomorrow on the Lady Frances.
Captain Keith reported a fantastic whale watch with lots of fin whales. There is lots of bait in the water and we are hoping they will stick around for a while.
