Just a couple updates:
There will be no scup (9:00 a.m. to 3:00 trip) fishing this week. Hopefully we can get the trips in next Thurs., Fri. & Sat. but be sure to call ahead to confirm. Also, there will be no Night Combo trip on Saturday night but we WILL have the Night Striped Bass trip and there is plenty of room on that trip.
The Cod Trip for this coming Sunday is a go and there is plenty of room. Its a 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. trip and $100 per person.
Whale, Whales and more Whales. Excellent sightings this year so far. There have been numerous Finback whales in the area. A Humpback earlier in the month as well. Also, dolphins and other marine life. Call for reservations. We sail on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Capt. Rich reported a much better day of fishing today with a much better drift. An equal mix of nice size fluke to 8lbs and sea bass to 3lbs. There was a full boat limit of sea bass and hi hook on the fluke was longtime regular customer Norman who took home 7 fine keepers. A few other jumbo fluke today but generally just lots of nice fluke that were not jumbos but not far behind. Norman made his great catch of summer flounder on fresh caught squid which Capt. Rich reported have moved in to the pond just recently. As for the rest of the gang, it was reported that bait rigs generally had the edge but some fish were taken on the jigs. Several nice pics are provided courtesy Ginny Reed and her grandson Cole who were out with Capt. Rich today. No blue fish but a few nice porgies mixed in as well. Capt. Rich looks forward to the next full day trip tomorrow on the Gail Frances setting sail at 7am.
The report from first mate Troy was that the afternoon trip was more productive than the morning trip. A better mix of nice size fluke and nice sea bass this afternoon and more shorts. In fact some anglers this afternoon walked off the boat with some impressive looking bags of fillets. Two more half day trips on tap for tomorrow with the first set to sail at 8am on the Lady Frances and the second to set sail at 4pm aboard the Admiral Frances.
