First mates Greg and Cote reported last night’s Bass fishing was again excellent. A nice steady pick of good size bass all night long. Biggest fish, not entered in the pool, went an easy 40lbs and there were a few others in the low to mid 20’s that fought it out for the pool with many nice fish in the teens. A good number of angler limits around the boat plus anglers also had a few handsome blue fish and one 5lb fluke to top off the great catch of bass. Capt. Ray reports staggering amounts of bait on the bass grounds recently including whiting, squid and sand eels. This should certainly hold the bass for awhile to come. Still plenty of room on tonight’s run, if interested please call the office to make a reservation as Capt. Ray will be set to sail on the Lady Frances at 7pm. Some great photos capturing angler hi lights from last night’s trip appear courtesy first mate Troy B.
Capt. Matt reported last night’s PM half day was respectable. Hi light was a 9 lb doormat caught on a rental rod set up while drifting a boulder field in skinny water looking for sea bass! Big fluke love big rock piles!! Biggest culprit in keeping catching at bay last night was the lack of drift. Still anglers chipped away at some nice sea bass and good size fluke and many of the anglers aboard left with dinner. A couple other fluke in the 3.5 to 4lb range and best sea bass around 3lbs. Some shorts kept rods bent around the boat as well and kept the interest level up. Two half days on tap for today with the first set to sail at 8am and the second at 4pm.
