First mate Capt. Matt reported another good night of Striper fishing aboard the Lady Frances. Pool fish was in the 25 lb range with a few others in the 20lb range and most in the teens. There were a few limit catches and there were more blue fish in the mix as well last night. Still plenty of room on tonight’s trip with the Lady Frances set to sail at 7pm with Capt. Ray at the helm.
Capt. Mike W reported an okay evening on the PM half day despite some breezy and rapid drifting conditions. Anglers did get a few nice fluke and some keeper sea bass and a bunch of short fish. When the wind let go late in the trip the fishing improved markedly. Two half days on tap today with the first at 8am on the Lady Frances and the second this afternoon at 1pm aboard the Admiral Frances.
There will be no Whale Watching today. Next Whale Watch will set sail at 1pm on Tuesday, July 23rd. Book on line or call the office to make a reservation.

Capt. Mike reported the morning half day had a wonderful turnout of enthusiastic anglers who were kept very busy with the short fluke and short sea bass but the number of keepers was not as high as we have been used to. Still some nice fluke and big sea bass were managed.
First mate Nicky reported that the morning half day charter for the James Christie group proved to be very successful with an great mix of nice size fluke and big sea bass. Many sea bass in the two to four pound range and fluke up to 3.5 lbs pleased the anglers aboard. Hi hook managed six nice sea bass and three keeper fluke! The vast majority of the catch was made using rental rod set ups. Still plenty of prime dates available for private charters this summer and into the fall so if interested please check out the section of our web site on private charters or call the office for further booking details and ask to speak to Tammy Roger or Cory.
Capt. Matt and first mate Capt. Ted reported the full day boat had another good day of fishing. Slightly sporty conditions caused a bit more concentration on behalf of the angler but those who persevered at the rail and could sniff out the subtle fluke bites did just fine averaging four to six or even seven nice keepers apiece. A good number of anglers limited out on nice size sea bass as well. Congrats once again to long time regular customer Hahn from NY/ NJ who took the pool with a fine 6lb fluke (one of six keepers in his cooler). One blue fish and a couple nice scup decided to join the Gail Frances today as well. Long leader bait rigs with Peruvian spearing or whole squid seemed to do just fine today although a few anglers had some success with the spro bucktails. Looks like some amazing fishing weather tomorrow and the weather man is threatening less humidity too! Capt. Rich will be set to sail tomorrow morning on the Gail Frances at 7am. Capt. Cory will have the Capt. Tackle office open by 5:30 am or so for check ins, ticket and tackle sales.
