Plenty of room on tonight’s Striper trip. The trip is a go so if interested please call the office to make a reservation.
Capt. Ray reported a respectable day of porgy fishing. A slower pick of nice size scup today with a few of the jumbos approaching platter size status of nearly 2 lbs. The scup again were hard down on the bottom making the bite a bit more delicate and requiring a touch more finesse. Still most anglers ended up okay. A few nice sea bass mixed in and a nice Striped Bass in the mid teens took the pool honors. Capt. Ray will be set to sail tomorrow at 7am for Scup aboard the Admiral Frances.
First mate Capt. Cory just delivered the report for the full day Fluke trip today and it was a respectable one indeed as well! Much much improved over yesterday, the first two drifts were DYNAMITE!! Thereafter the conditions changed and the bite relaxed to a slow pick. Lots and lots of QUALITY slabs today with more than two dozen fish of jo or jumbo category over 4lbs and five of those fish over 7lbs with the best of the lot just a shade under 9 lbs. Whole squid, Peruvian spearing, buck tails, and general bait rigs all worked great when the bite was on first thing this morning. A handful of big sea bass to 4lbs and one supersize 3lb porgy and some big Block Island skates rounded out the day’s species assortment. Mr. Yuon was hi hook with six big fluke while Pete and Connie Tu combined for 10 nice slabs today. Capt. Rich will be set to sail tomorrow morning at 7am aboard the Gail Frances for fluke. Remember tomorrow, Monday and Wednesday are the last scheduled fluke trips for the time being and all three days the trips will set sail at 7am.
