Capt Mike and Capt. Matt are on their way back in from the Overnight Tuna Trip that left yesterday morning. Captain and crew were pleased with the results, some nice yellowfin in the 80-100 lb range and also a few albacore in the mix. The next trip leaves tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. and has plenty of room, so if anyone wants to take advantage of this nice fall weather and get out and do some tuna fishing, this is the weekend to do it. ALSO, we are offering a special for tomorrow’s tuna trip! IF YOU BOOK TOMORROW’S TUNA TRIP BETWEEN THE TIME OF THIS POSTING AND THE TIME OF DEPARTURE, WE WILL GIVE YOU A $50 GIFT CERTIFCATE TOWARDS A FUTURE TRIP.
Capt. Ray reported another great day of porgy fishing. Ditto the results of yesterday but more keeper sea bass in the mix today and a couple trigger fish as well. A bunch of limit catches on nice size stuff to nearly 2lbs with plenty of double headers. Block Island Porgy fishing has really come into its own these days!! Looks like some great weather on tap for this coming weekend to hunt down those big BI porgies and we will be set to sail with Capt. Ray at the helm both Saturday and Sunday at 7am aboard the Admiral Frances.
Roger reported today’s cod fishing was slow. We fished a bunch of places where we had not been in awhile and despite a cathedral effort on behalf of Capt. Rich the results were below expectations. Nevertheless a handful of cod to ten pounds, a few handfuls of big black sea bass and a handful or two of nice scup plus a bunch of super size ocean perch and a couple nice blue fish were managed by the relatively light crowd of anglers. One good size sea bass, one keeper cod and the blue fish took the metal today but otherwise everything was caught on clams. The weather was remarkably beautiful today and allowed us an optimal drift most of the day, perhaps the weather was too nice! Anyways we set sail again tomorrow at 7am and the weather again looks great with Capt. Rich at the helm of the Gail Frances. A few pics provided courtesy Roger.
