The report from Capt. Mike is that the black fishing was very good today. There was a modest crowd aboard and there were six or seven limit catches at least! Biggest tog was 9 lbs and there were others over 8lbs. A lot of quality fish in the five to seven pound range today. It was a late day bite today but when it was on, it was on! One nice keeper cod and a few handfuls of sea bass to compliment the great catch of togs today. Some great pictures today will appear above today’s report courtesy first mate Chris K. Tomorrow looks like more good weather for togging and Capt. Mike will be ready to set sail at 6am aboard the Lady Frances.
Roger reported a great day of weather and fishing on the Lady Frances today with Capt. Rich. The sea bass fishing was excellent with many limit catches around the boat and anglers also had quite a few nice size porgies. Hi hooks on the porgies had upwards to 20 nice size scup apiece. Much more in the way of bigger sea bass today with the fish in the 2.5 to 4 lb range much more common today than yesterday and a few real brutes up to nearly 5lbs. Some good size ocean perch as well. Just a couple of cod today with the biggest in the mid teens. One hook down near the sinker was again rated best for productivity. Right now the next scheduled sea bass/cod trip is slated for Wednesday at 7am with Capt. Rich. A couple pics courtesy of Roger. The basket shot shows an 18 inch porgy side by side a sea bass of nearly 4 lbs and is a one day catch for one angler. While the numbers of cod have been low the past couple of trips, most anglers have been leaving with hefty bags of sea bass and scup fillets which make for outstanding table fare.
