Captain Rich reported a OK day on the local cod grounds. The Cod fishing was on the slower side but there was a full limit of sea bass caught. Captain Rich reported a very large ground swell and some dirty made for a slower cod bite. He also reported the dogfish were out in force today but it did not seem to bother the sea bass.A few large scup and some blue fish rounded out the days catch.
Captain Mike reported a decent day on the blackfish boat. The morning started off slower but then Mike hit some pieces and the fish started coming over the rail. A few anglers managed a limit with others being close. Biggest fish was around 8 pounds. The water was a little on the dirty side but now where close to what we were expecting after yesturday’s blow. Quite a few shorts in the mix to keep the rods bending.
Tomorrow Sunday Nov 3rd there will be one boat sailing at 6am for Blackfish.
There will be no cod boat.
