Roger reported another great day of local togging. While there was not a full boat limit today there were certainly plenty of limit catches around the boat and there was also a handsome turnout of anglers who braved the windy forecast. Turned out not to be so windy after all and was really just a beautiful mid November day. As stated before plenty of limit catches including longtime regular customer Scott and his friend Phillip from Avon CT who had an awesome time today aboard the Lady Frances and another longtime regular customer Roger from Bristol( who shares the same first name and hometown of the writer) who easily limited out along with exceptional rod handlers Peter and Connie Tu and so on. Those who did not limit out, with only a few exceptions, were rather close. Even one guy who used clams all day managed a couple nice tog. Quite a few quality fish again today with the pool fish easily over 10 lbs with several others in the 8-9 lb range, in fact one angler alone had four fish over 7lbs himself! A fair number of keeper sea bass with a couple of them approaching the 2 lb mark and one nice golden market size cod fish that made a last second escape right at boat side. Plenty of short tog and some short sea bass kept the anglers rather busy at most stops today and one lone ling decided to join the party as well. It seemed that the tog rigs with the hooks just below or a bit below the sinker proved more effective today. A few pics today courtesy of Roger. Capt. Mike will be ready to set sail tomorrow morning for tatoug at 6am aboard the Lady Frances.
Its not to early to start thinking about Wednesday’s cod and sea bass run. The weather looks great for fishing! Capt. Rich will be ready to set sail on the Gail Frances at 6 am.
