Roger reported another excellent day of jumbo scup and sea bass fishing today with plenty of limits of both all around the Gail Frances. Everyone aboard left with plenty of fresh fish even if he or she did not leave with a cod or two and the catching was non stop from lines in until the end of the day when Capt. Rich gave the going home speech. Capt. Ted’s son Connor put on a scup and sea bass clinic today filling a bushel basket to overflowing and topped it off with a nice market cod. Well done Conman!! A respectable showing of market cod as well with the best of the lot pushing the ten pound mark and fairly spread out like yesterday. Some sea bass, scup and a handful of the cod (including the pool fish) were taken on jigs while the rest were on bait. Not as many super size sea bass as yesterday but plenty of jumbo limits in the 2 to 3 lb size range with the best of the jumbo black sea bass pushing the 4 lb mark. The scup today were about as big as one could ask for with average size scup pushing the 2 lb mark and some upwards to 3 lbs!! Some ocean perch and a few blue fish and again almost none of the unmentionables and that is the report for the Gail Frances today. Some pics today provided courtesy of Roger. Next cod/sea bass/scup outing looks like it will be on Wednesday at 6am after the weather settles down.
Capt. Mike reported a decent day of tog fishing. Pool fish was around or just shy of ten pounds and there were at least a few angler limits. A respectable amount of shorts as well for busy work. There will be no fishing trip tomorrow due to GALE WARNINGS!! Next possible trip is Tuesday at 6am. Call the office tomorrow afternoon to double check on the status of Tuesday’s outing. A few pics from yesterday’s trip are provided courtesy first mate Greg.
