First mate Chris L reported a solid day aboard the Gail Frances with lots of good size sea bass up to 5 lbs and a good amount of nice size fluke. It was a quick drift with some serious lead required at times but the chew was on. Hi hook on the fluke boxed seven good keepers and the biggest fluke recorded was around 7 lbs. There were a few sea bass limits today and quite a few of the sea bass were well over 2 lbs. A lot of folks had several nice sea bass apiece today. A handful of keeper scup and two short cod fish rounded out the species assortment. Tomorrow’s weather looks great and the Gail Frances will set sail at 7am with Capt. Rich at the helm.
Capt. Ray reported both half days were very good today. There were not many fluke around today but the sea bass bent the rods handsomely on the morning trip and were also around in the afternoon. Scup made a cameo in the morning but the afternoon trip found the scup to be far more enthusiastic. Plenty of keepers to go around for the most part. Two half days on tap for tomorrow with the first set to sail at 8am and the second at 1pm both aboard the Admiral Frances.
