JUST A REMINDER PORGY FISHING STARTS TOMORROW AT 7AM ABOARD THE ADMIRAL FRANCES. WE WILL BE PORGY FISHING 7AM TO 3PM WEEKENDS ONLY THROUGH COLUMBUS DAY WEEKEND THEREAFTER!!
Capt. George relayed word that the Marcio Conti private charter was a great success today. This half day charter close to home found excellent number of nice size sea bass to over 3 lbs, some nice size scup and a bunch of big ocean perch up to 2lbs. A false albacore of ten pounds provided some extra excitement and even a small red cod fish chased down one of the angler’s offerings. Lots of action and all hands went home with a nice bunch of fresh fillets for some fine dining in the near future.
The report from first mates Cory and Chris were that today saw a very enthusiastic turnout of fluke/sea bass fishers however the fish themselves were not very spread out at all. It was definitely a case of the haves and the have nots. Hi hook took home 7 nice fluke and a few other fishers boxed several nice fluke apiece. No monsters but the biggest was around six pounds. Same story with the sea bass with sizes up to nearly 4 lbs. Some anglers were limited or close to it and others did not fare as well. Some fair size porgies along with two beautiful but just short golden cod fish rounded out the species assortment for the day. Capt. Rich will be back out again tomorrow as the Gail Frances is set to sail at 7am. Just a reminder the 7am full day fluke/sea bass boat will sail through Friday the 18th daily weather permitting.
