The report today from the Gail Frances was filled with lots of good news that included some mesmerizing mid September weather and sea conditions along with a nice showing of cod fish both keepers and shorts while looking for some late inning fluke. Just a couple of those flat ones today but a real mixed bag besides the cod fish that included some nice size sea bass and big porgies, red hake, whiting, and ocean perch. Hi hook on the cod fish boxed seven nice keepers to ten pounds but the biggest cod on the boat was a fine fat 12 lbr. Tomorrow it’s the bottom of the ninth for the fluke with the last trip of the season on tap. Cod fishing proper will begin Saturday. Capt. Rich will be ready to sail the Gail Frances tomorrow morning at 7am. The weather looks as good as today and the theme of gorgeous weather looks to continue right through the entire weekend.
