Due to the high winds forecasted the Extended Tuna trip will leave tomorrow morning. We would like everyone checked in by 530 am if possible so that the trip can head out a bit earlier. The office will by open by 4:30 am. This trip will also change in classification from an Extended to a regular Overnight Tuna trip with a return time sometime Friday Afternoon and price will be dropped from $400 to $375 accordingly. This is the last scheduled trip for tuna of the 2015 season. If anyone wants to show up at the last minute and buy a ticket there is still considerable room to do so or he/she can call the office this evening and speak to Roger about a reservation.
Roger reported okay cod fishing today at the most Coxes Ledge like area on the Block Island Grounds. A pick of market cod with the best of the lot both in the very low teens. Two anglers managed three keeper cod apiece for hi hook honors. A bit more in the way of scup today, especially at the last stop of the day. Some big ocean perch, some throwback cod, one large sea flounder, fluke of nearly 10 and 5 lbs, a few hefty blue fish, a false albacore and some but not too many unmentionables rounded out the species assortment for the day. By far most of the cod were caught on bait but a couple were jigged up. Both anchoring and drifting were employed today and both produced on the cod. Each day that passes gets us closer to October 23rd folks so hang in there. Next cod trip on the books is scheduled for this coming Friday set to sail at 7am with Capt. Rich at the helm. A handful of pictures today showcasing a few angler hi lights courtesy of Roger.
