Capt. Mike was pleased to report a very solid start to the 2015 fall black fish season with a nice number of keepers and plenty of shorts. A couple of angler limits and pool fish threatening 7 lbs. A couple of keeper cod, a bunch of sea bass with a few anglers close to a limit on those as well. A few short cod as well. All in all not a bad start to the season complete with brisk northerly winds and snow flurries to boot! More cold air but fair skies on tap for tomorrow and lighter breezes, Capt. Mike will be ready to set sail at 6 am at the helm of the Lady Frances.
First mate Chris L reported that today’s cod trip saw a slight improvement over yesterday. A few more keeper cod for less anglers and of the fish taken about half were nice green market fish. Nothing big but the best was threatening ten pounds. A fair amount of scup, a few ocean perch and one keeper tog rounded out the days catch. Great weather to look for the cod again tomorrow but bundle up because it will be chilly! Capt. Rich sets sail on the Gail Frances at 7am.
