Capt. Mike reported a good day of early season togging today. At least a couple of angler limits and a good number of fishers who had several nice tog apiece to take home for a generally modest amount of fishers. A nice mess of keeper sea bass too. Plenty of short tog and short sea bass rounded out the days catch. Biggest fish for the day was around 8 lbs. Tomorrow is the next trip for tog and the Lady Frances will set sail at 6 am with Capt. Matt or Capt. Mike at the helm.
Capt. Rich reported a good day of local cod fishing for the scant handful of fishers who joined him aboard the Gail Frances. Longtime regular Gardy took the pool with a nice fish in the upper teens and there were a few others in the mid teens taken. Gardy also took home four nice keepers. Lou P from Niantic was hi hook however with five nice cod to the mid teens for the day. Longtime regular Norm had three keepers with two of them in the low teens and so on. Some nice porgies, a few large sea flounder and some good size ocean perch mixed in as well. Next cod trip will sail Friday morning at 7 am aboard the Gail Frances with Capt. Rich at the helm and sea bass will be open again in the cod fish waters.
