Roger reported a much slower day today aboard the cod fish boat. We did have some cod on the first set but after that it was just a couple here and a couple there. Not as many sea bass today either but we did have a fair amount although very few anglers had a limit. The scup were also absent outside of a handful of really big ones Some perch and a couple large sea flounder. Some short cod and one short pollock and some but not that many unmentionables and that was about it. One longtime fisher who was up from Washington DC did box four nice cod and the pool fish around twelve pounds. One other fisher had three keepers. We drifted and anchored today and just a couple fish on jigs with the rest on bait. We would also like to give a special shout out to longtime regular Al Dagnazio from Southington CT who did have a fine pair of market cod today! Way to go Al!! Wednesday looks great weather wise and the Gail Frances will set sail at 6am with Capt. Rich at the helm. A few pictures today courtesy of Roger.
Capt. Mike reported improved fishing aboard the tog boat today. A couple of angler limits and some others who were not far behind. Some real quality tog today with several fish over 8 lbs and the best of the lot a solid ten pounds taken by longtime regular John R. We also had a bunch of nice market cod today with the best just under the ten pound mark. A few sea bass as well. Tomorrow the tog boat will set sail at 6 am with Capt. Mike at the helm of the Lady Frances.
