Owner Christine Blount reported a slow morning of fishing on the half day. A few nice fluke were caught and some shorts but the action was way slower than hoped for. Plenty of skates, catch and release sea bass and some sea robins kept rods bent and angler interest intensified at the rail this morning. A few pictures courtesy Christine Blount. Hoping for better results this afternoon. Two half days on tap for tomorrow with the fist setting sail at 8am and the second at 1pm. Back to back half days can net an angler $10 off the second outing.
3 PM UDPATE……………SQUID TRIP IS A GO TONIGHT ABOARD THE GAIL FRANCES!!
First mate Chris L reported solid fluke fishing today aboard the Gail Frances but the fish were not as spread out as yesterday. A case of the haves and have nots which happens from time to time party boat fishing. A bunch of fishers who were in the “haves” category did have 4 to 7 keepers apiece and there was some serious quality today with four fish in the 7 lb range fighting it out for bragging rights and a bunch more in the 4-5 lb range. Chris reported that there was no real noticeable trend in what was hot today as some did well with bait rigs and some with buck tail rigs. A few pictures today courtesy first mate Chris L including the pool fish. Anglers also threw back many big sea bass to estimated 6 lbs, short fluke, sea robins and skates. We sail tomorrow morning for full day fluke at 7 am with Capt. Rich at the helm of the Gail Frances.
