Capt. Mike reported a nice mix of short and keeper fluke pleased an enthusiastic group of half day fishers this morning aboard the Lady Frances. Two half days on tap for Father’s Day tomorrow with the first setting sail at 8 am and the second at 1pm.
Longtime regular customer Ginny sent in a nice picture of a good size fluke taken this afternoon aboard the Lady Frances with Capt. Mike. The fishing was just so so due to slower drift conditions but some nice fluke and a bunch of shorties and other cellar dwellers bent rods and provided some amusement along the rails of the Lady Frances. A few more pictures courtesy owner Christine Blount who switched up gears and amassed herself a tidy little pile of porgies. At the end of the day however we could not ask for better fishing weather for a Father’s Day Weekend!
The report from the Gail Frances was of a good start to the day when the drift conditions were ideal and then a slower afternoon as wind and tide conditions were opposing each other. Still some real quality slabs came aboard with quite a few fish in the 4 to 5 lb range and some bigger ones up to an including the 8 lb plus pool fish taken by longtime regular customer Joe Gagne from Cumberland RI. In fact Joe and his girlfriend Cindy combined for 7 nice fluke, most of them over 4 lbs. It was a day of the haves and have nots as is often found on days when the drift conditions are challenging. There was one limit catch and a fair amount of other fishers who had four to six keepers apiece. Sounds like buck tails overall produced the best but no specifics were given on colors or sizes. A couple of beautiful pictures provided courtesy longtime regular customer Cindy. Capt. Rich sets sail tomorrow morning at 7 am aboard the Gail Frances for the Father’s Day Full Day Fluke trip.
The squid trip tonight is a go! Plenty of room so if interested be in the office before 7 pm to purchase your tickets. The squid trip will set sail with Capt. Mike aboard the Gail Frances.
