Captain Rich reported a great day of fishing aboard the Gail Frances today. A small but enthusiastic crowd of anglers managed to catch the boat’s limit of Black Sea Bass, which ranged up to 4lbs. A good number of nice-sized fluke were also landed by anglers, with the pool winner weighing in at about 5.5 lbs. Hi hook boasted 7 fish today for the full day trip.
Captain George’s report touts a good afternoon half day trip, where many nice-sized fluke and sea bass found their way on board. The captain reports that the tide affected the fishing, where strong tidal action made for hungry fish and great action. Most anglers left the boat carrying some fish, with those who had been actively fishing at the rail leaving with the biggest fillet bags.
According to Captain Matt, the first whale watch excursion of the season was treated to a sighting of a Finback whale. Though the whale was a little shy and elusive, it was a great way to start off the season.
Tomorrow, the Gail Frances will be sailing at 7AM for Jumbo Fluke and Seabass, and the Lady sets sail at 8AM and 1PM for Half Day fishing. The next whale watch will sail at 1PM on Thursday.
