Capt. Matt reported success again last night aboard the Lady Frances. Not quite as hot as this past Saturday Night but still downright respectable compared to the past two seasons with a decent number of nice bass with the best of the lot tipping the scales at around or just over 20 lbs. Some great pictures posted above courtesy first mate Greg. Great job Greg!! Next Striper trip will set sail tomorrow night, Friday July 8th at 7 pm aboard the Lady Frances.
First mate Chris L reported slightly better numbers of fluke mixed in with a boat limit of sea bass to 4 lbs. Biggest fluke just a hair under 7 lbs. Hi hook on the fluke took home five keepers and a number of fishers had two or three keepers apiece to go along with their sea bass. A few blue fish and a handful of scup rounded out the edible species assortment for the day. Great weather again tomorrow and Capt. Rich will be set to sail on the Gail Frances at 7 am.
This morning’s half day fishing was reported to be slow. Some sea bass did cooperate and a handful of fluke plus shorties of each , sea robins and even a small smoothie but overall results were not what we had hoped for a relatively enthusiastic group of fishers.
This afternoon’s half day was however much better with Capt. George putting in some extra time due to a late but hot bite. A nice mess of sea bass to 3 lbs and some real quality fluke to nearly 6 lbs with most in the 3 to 5 lb range pleased anglers, especially late in the trip. Two half days on tap tomorrow with the first set to sail at 8 am and the second at 1pm. Back to back half day trips can net an angler a $10 discount off the second outing. Some recent half day hi lights courtesy owner Christine Blount are shown below!
