COLUMBUS DAY WEEKEND COD FISH SCHEDULE (SATURDAY SUNDAY AND MONDAY) 630 AM TO 4 PM ON THE GAIL FRANCES WITH CAPT. RICH
The Overnight Tuna Trip returned to port this afternoon and unfortunately not much to report. A slow trip according to capt and crew. Some mahi-mahi, with a few upwards to 20 lbs or so. Every trip is different, so we will see what the weekend trip brings.
Beautiful day to be cod fishing today, Roger will have a full report later, accompanied by a few picture highlights, I’m sure. Roger does a great job not only with the reporting but capturing some great angler/fish shots! Pictures, they say are worth are thousand words. Thanks Roger!
Roger reported a solid day of cod fishing. Generally smaller fish today with just a few bigger green fish mixed in. Pool fish was just a shade south of 15 lbs. Two fishers shared hi hook honors with four keeper cod apiece and there were a few fishers who boxed three keepers apiece. A big mess of super size ocean perch with some specimens easily close to the 2 lb mark. We also had a couple teen size alligator blue fish and a decent amount of good size porgies but not the extraordinary scup fishing of Wednesday. The unmentionables were around in spurts but very manageable. The weather was nothing short of epic, perhaps too nice! Another day of cod fishing on tap for tomorrow. Pictures today showcasing a few angler hi lights and the beauty of today’s weather/sea conditions courtesy of regular customer Peter and Roger.
