First mate Chris L reported that the porgy fishing was off to charts on today’s cod fish trip with those who wanted to procure a full bag limit doing so rather easily. Sizes on par with what we had on Wednesday’s trip with common fish in the 1.5-2 lb range and some as big as 3 lbs! The cod unfortunately kept a slightly lower profile today although one fisher did manage to box three keepers. Biggest of the cod just touching the ten pound mark. Quite a few shorty cod as well. Things continue to look great for when sea bass reopens in two weeks and there was also a few ocean perch and one nice sea flounder. Best of all hardly any unmentionables at all today! Capt. Rich will set sail tomorrow morning at 630 am aboard the Gail Frances.
