Captain Mike reported a very good day on the black fish boat with nearly a full limit of tog.Many limits around the boat but some people did not fair so well. Black fishing is a funny fishery where two people can be standing side by side and one person gets 0 and another gets a limit. High hook was Mr. Lee from MA who caught 15 keepers(orl). Pool fish was around 10 pounds. The action was nonstop at some spots and Mike said they caught ” a gazillion and 1 shorts”. We plan on sailing tomorrow am at 6am for blackfish.
Captain Rich reported a slow day on the cod but a good day on the sea bass on the Gail. He took the ride down to the ledge were open mouths were waiting. Some of the mouths were from the hundreds of dogfish, the others were from knob head sea bass. The cod did make a small showing but the sea bass made the day. A few flounder and ling also could not pass up the fresh clams. Next scheduled sailing day for Cod/Seabass will be Friday at 6am.
